BACK TO COLLEGE. AHEAD IN LIFE.

Graduate! Philadelphia

With only one in five working-age adults holding an associates' or bachelor's degree, Philadelphia's workforce is ill-prepared to meet the needs of 21st Century employers. At the same time, almost 80,000 Philadelphians between the ages 25 and 45 have more than one year of college credit but no degree. This significant group of people is a largely overlooked and underutilized resource with the potential to be a powerful lever for local and regional economic development.

Graduate! Philadelphia is a joint initiative of the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board and the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania that exists to address and remedy the negative impact of Philadelphia's low post-secondary educational attainment levels on the city's economy and workforce. The initiative pays special attention to lower-income working adults who have some college credits but have not earned their degree. Specifically, Graduate! Philadelphia seeks to promote solutions based on cross-sector partnerships between business, government, postsecondary education, service providers, and the Philadelphia community.
