WIA Title I Adult and Dislocated Worker Services

The Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board released a Request for Proposals on January 13, 2012 for providers of Workforce Investment Act (WIA) adult and dislocated worker services through PACareerLink® centers in Philadelphia, beginning July 1, 2012 for a multi-year term. The RFP is available below and proposals are due Monday February 27, 2012 by 12:00 p.m. (noon).

Applicants are asked to email info@pwib.org to indicate their Intent to Apply by Monday January 30, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.

 There was an optional Bidders’ Conference on Monday, January 23, 2012. Materials from the bidder's conference will be posted below.  All questions about the RFP should be directed to info@pwib.org. Answers to questions received by February 23, 2012 will be posted below.

WorkReady Philadelphia 2012 Summer Programs Request for Proposal (closed)

The Philadelphia Council for College and Career Success, a subcommittee of the PWIB, announced the release of a Request for Proposals to allocate federal and foundation funds, which will be available as of April 2, 2012. These funds will support the 2012 WorkReady summer programs for youth in Philadelphia. Eligible Training Program/Provider (ETPP)

Organizations interested in providing occupational skills training to local One Stop (PA CareerLink) center participants are invited to submit an application for inclusion on the Statewide Eligible Training Program Provider list. Applications are to be submitted via the Commonwealth's Comprehensive Workforce Development System. In advance, please download the following documents:

High Priority Occupations (HPO) Petition Process

The Commonwealth’s Workforce System develops and releases a new High Priority Occupations list annually. However, because statistical analysis and projections can miss differences and dynamics in regional and local labor markets, the High Priority Occupations list has appropriate input from regional businesses, and a mechanism to obtain local input. A key component of this mechanism is petitioning to add occupations to the High Priority Occupations list.

To that end, the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board invites educational institutions or economic and workforce development agencies to consider adding add an occupation to the High Priority Occupations list. Petitions will be accepted until noon on June 24, 2011. An overview of the process, petitioning application and a draft of the occupations list that will be effective for the program year which begins on July 1, 2011 and ends on June 30, 2012 can be found at:
